Fork It is actor Gavin Yap’s touching, semi-autobiographical solo journey through childhood, mixed identity, family, career and belonging, told through the different foods that shaped his life.

From moving to Malaysia from London at age 5, to his confused years as a mixed-blood teen, to discovering acting through his father’s old dubbed Bruce Lee movies, Gavin traces it all back to the dishes tied to each memory, starting with the culture shock of his very first Kopitiam breakfast.

It’s a hilarious and heartfelt look at what it means to belong, and ultimately, what it means to become Malaysian.
